JAZZ INSTRUMENTS


Although jazz can be played on any instrument, 
the most common are the human voice, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, bass, drums and guitar.
Saxophone
The saxophone family was invented by the Belgian instrument maker
 Adolphe Sax in 1840.
He wanted to create a group of instruments
 that would be more powerful than the woodwinds and more adaptive than the brass section.
Saxophone players are called saxophonists.


Here they show us the main four saxophones.
Saxophones are used in classical music,military bands and in jazz style.

JAZZ BAND

These are the most common instruments in a jazz band.
At the beginning of the 20th century in the American city of New Orleans,
 the black people organized festivals and new bands playing with and percussion instruments appeared.

Their music , which they called DIXIELAND ,
was very often improvised ,strong and rhythmical.

New Orleans 1947.
Dixieland,sometimes referred to as hot/traditional jazz,
 is a style of jazz based on the music that was developed at the start of the 20th century 
in New Orleans.

MUSICAL FAMILIES

The musical families are the group of instruments that  make the sound in the same way.


STRING FAMILY / SECTION

String instruments like the violin or the double bass make a sound when their strings vibrate as we play them.

PERCUSSION FAMILY / SECTION

Percussion instruments like the drum or the castanets make a sound when we bang, scratch or shake them.

WIND FAMILY/SECTION

Wind instruments like the saxophone or the flute have one or more tubes inside them.
When we blow into the tubes, the air in the tubes vibrates and produces a sound.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC


THE SOUND OF MUSIC
American musical drama film produced and directed by Robert Wise in 1965.
Starring by Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.

 The story is based on maria von Trapp's memoir.
The film is an adaptation of the 1959 Broadway musical "The Sound of Music"
The Sound of Music receive five Academy Awards,
 including Best Picture and Best Director.
